COMPARING PANAMA TO COSTA RICA:

"We lived in Costa Rica five months and our house was broken into three times and our car twice. We lost quite a bit. The OJI (Costa Ricas' FBI) filed reports but no other action was taken. The attitude of expats who had lived there a long time was: 'What did you expect? This is Costa Rica.'
We now have lived in Panama six months and have experienced no crime. I sometimes get up as early as 4:00 A.M. and walk in the downtown area of Panama City, something I would not do in the U.S.

For us Panama is so superior to Costa Rica it isn't even a contest."
