This protected area is the only tropical rainforest within the city limits of any capital city throughout the Western Hemisphere.
The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) undertakes ecological canopy scientific investigations in this 660-football-field-sized area located within 15 minutes from Panama City. In this park, you can walk through the marked path, surrounded by orchids, cedar trees, and watch more than 200 species of birds, mammals and reptiles.
